SOLEDAD, CA - Braga Fresh is entering its 95^th year in business, and as such, the supplier thought it was about time to create a new executive position. Braga has promoted distinguished exec Colby Pereira as its new Chief Operating Officer.

Pereira joined Braga Fresh in 2020 as Vice President of Operations, a recent press release from Braga Fresh explained. In addition to managing the farming, harvesting, shipping, and processing operations, she also led the COVID response team as the supplier navigated the many challenges that came along with the global pandemic. As COO, Pereira will now be responsible for driving strategic initiatives to continue the company’s growth.

The new COO has a rich background in agriculture and is a recognized leader who serves on multiple industry and community boards. Her passion for agriculture was inspired by her grandfather, Anthony Costa, who was a pioneer in the Salinas Valley of California.

The executive change comes as the company expanded its value-add capabilities in recent years with the Josie’s Organics brand. Today, Braga Fresh has more than 1,600 employees, a large organic and conventional land base, two processing facilities, and four shipping locations.
