Emily Kohlhas Has Been Hired as the New Sales and Marketing Coordinator for John Vena, Inc.
PHILADELPHIA, PA - John Vena Inc. has made the move to hire the company’s first Sales and Marketing Coordinator, Emily K. Kohlhas.
Kohlhas got her start in Philadelphia’s sustainable food movement, and brings over five years of experience in customer service and communications to the company.
As the first Sales & Marketing Coordinator, Kohlhas will be responsible for leading strategic growth efforts. The company has outlined that her focus will be on new and developing markets such as specialty, value-added, local, fair trade, organic, and non-perishable.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Emily to our Trading Team,” says John Vena, the company’s President. “Her enthusiasm and expertise in alternative markets will be fundamental to the company’s continued growth as we seek to identify new customers and distribution opportunities.”
According to a press release, her work will support Vena’s commitment to provide the best possible experience for new and existing customers and suppliers.
Kohlhas was originally trained as an anthropologist and has experience in multiple sectors across the food industry, including fresh food retail, sustainable farming, restaurants, catering, and nutrition. She has led comprehensive marketing efforts for several Philadelphia-area nonprofits, including Fair Food and the Vetri Foundation for Children. She has been in charge of coordination for several high-profile events including the Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange, the Great Chefs Event, and Philly Farm & Food Fest. Recently, she also implemented a successful CSA and retail stand at one of California’s most well-known biodynamic farms.
