J&J Family of Farms Adds Bob Ziel As Director of Food Safety and Social Responsibility
LOXAHATCHEE, FL - J&J Family of Farms is continuing to grow its team with the recent hire of produce industry veteran Bob Ziel, as the company’s new Director of Food Safety and Social Responsibility.
Ziel will report directly to Lynn Rundle, Chairman and CEO of J&J Family of Farms, and will provide hands-on leadership in this role.
“We are proud of our Food Safety and Social Responsibility programs and are continuously raising the bar for our farms, our suppliers, and our grower partners,” Rundle said. “We are implementing new processes to comply fully with the Food Safety Modernization Act, and under Bob’s leadership we will be a cutting edge Food Safety organization.”
With more than 30 years of Food Safety experience, Ziel has held key Food Safety roles with McEntire Produce, The Kraft Heinz Company, and ConAgra Foods, among many other distinguished roles. Most recently, Ziel held the role of Director of Food Safety for McEntire. His experience includes certifications across the board including HAACP and Six Sigma Green Belt. As an active leader in the produce industry, Ziel has held roles with PMA, the United Fresh Technical Council and Center for Produce Safety.
“I look forward to developing a world class Food Safety and Social Responsibility team to support the vision and mission of J&J as we establish ourselves as leaders and innovators in the fresh produce industry,” Ziel commented, as he reflected on his new role.
Ziel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana, and a Master’s Degree in Food Science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, according to a press release. Ziel enjoys salt water fishing and serving his community through local outreach programs for the homeless and incarcerated.
