Mastronardi Produce's Nicole Balderas Talks New WOW™ Berries

CHICAGO, IL - Mastronardi Produce has introduced a line of berries it’s sure will make anyone who takes a bite say “WOW™.” Packaged like premium chocolates, this was something I was excited to learn more about while in Chicago for United Fresh.

There’s no one that doesn’t love a great berry, and what’s really special about these is we think they’re something people will have in their fridge in addition to the berries they buy now.”

She explains that Mastronardi Produce is likening the experience of eating a Lolliberry, Pearberry, or Dreamberry to eating chocolate—talk about taking the “guilt” out of guilty pleasure!—so that consumers see quickly that each offers an experience.

“We want consumers to understand that experiential nature of it. It’s got that very high-end premium feel and it sort of indicates just how flavorful they are,” Nicole says, explaining to me that the packaging is black with strong, bright, vibrant imagery.
