New York Apple Association Appoints Nathaniel Foster as Account and Event Manager; Cynthia Haskins Shares

NEW YORK - Backed by over 20 years in the grocery industry, Nathaniel Foster has been announced as the New York Apple Association’s (NYAA) new Account and Event Manager. Wielding expertise in retail purchasing, store operations, customer service, and sales and account management, he will help spur consumer awareness for New York apples while implementing the latest merchandising and marketing programs.

Nathaniel Foster, Account and Event Manager, New York Apple Association“I have always enjoyed working with apple growers in New York State and look forward to developing relationships with our retail and foodservice partners, so we can expand the sales of New York apples through increased shelf space, ample displays, and marketing support resources,” said Foster.

Foster has more than 15 years of experience managing grocery and produce departments as well as overall store operations for several independent natural food grocers, a release stated. His most extensive expertise is in product sourcing and inventory purchasing and replenishment, giving him valuable knowledge that he can share with the organization and its partners.

Most recently, Foster served as Satellite Store Manager for GreenStar Co-op in Ithaca, New York, where he oversaw the grand opening of its Collegetown store location and guided the store through a successful first year. In his position, he worked closely with New York farmers and shippers to add locally grown fruits to the produce department. Prior to that, he served as Territory Sales Manager for United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI).

In his new position, Foster will manage retail and foodservice accounts alongside Cailin Kowalewski and Susan Sarlund. This comes at a perfect time as NYAA has been adding to its portfolio of marketing assets that will be rolling out this fall.

Cynthia Haskins, President and Chief Executive Officer, New York Apple Association“We are excited to have Nathaniel join us as we continue to bring consumer awareness about New York State apple varieties and implement merchandising and marketing programs that assist retailers and the foodservice industry with what they need to sell more New York State apples,” said Cynthia Haskins, President and Chief Executive Officer, about Foster’s addition to the team.

Cheers to Nathaniel Foster on his new role with NYAA!
