OAK BROOK, IL - Lights, camera, action! This is likely what absorbent manufacturer Novipax heard as the company stepped into the spotlight for an appearance on the well-known television series, EARTH with John Holden. Set to air on several major networks starting December 19, 2021, and into early January 2022, the program showcases the company’s innovative measures to help in the fight against food waste.

The solutions provider’s Dri-Loc^®XtendaPak works to extend the shelf-life of products such as fresh produce, meat, poultry, and seafood by lowering bacteria levels in the package. In turn, this mitigates food waste by increasing the window of time that retailers can merchandise products and the time that shoppers can keep items stored at home before spoiling.

“A major problem in America is food waste…the average American household wastes almost one-third of the food they purchase,” commented Holden. After traveling to Grenada, Mississippi, to visit one of Novipax’s four manufacturing facilities as well as its state-of-the-art innovation center, he also noted, “…the food preservation technology happening right here is helping to change that.”

Currently, Novipax has thousands of end users, including supermarkets, fresh produce processors, and protein processors. By placing Novipax’s Dri-Loc XtendaPaks inside of their packages, they are actively working to fight against food waste while increasing sustainability.
