Valley Fruit and Produce Hires Kurt W. Hubbart as Category Manager



LOS ANGELES, CA - As Valley Fruit & Produce looks to further grow its regional and national accounts, the company is bringing industry vet Kurt W. Hubbart on board as its Category Manager. Now in this lead role, Hubbart will be tasked with managing procurement for all its Northwest commodities, including apples, pear, onions, potatoes, and cherries.

“I am excited to start a new challenge within Valley and look forward to working with the team to further develop their already extensive product and service suites,” Hubbart said upon his appointment. “I am fortunate to be joining such a respected company that prides itself of top quality service.”

You may know Hubbart’s face from several of his roles within the produce industry, including fifteen years in the retail sector as Produce Manager, Sales Manager, and Buyer for Albertsons. Most recently, Hubbart spent 14 years in sales and marketing at Oneonta Starr Ranch Growers. According to a press release, Hubbart was instrumental in developing several of the company’s large corporate accounts.

After 90 years of business, Valley Fruit & Produce has become an integral part the Los Angeles Produce Market, now holding 16 doors and 32 truck spaces for loading and receiving and 24,000-square-feet of warehouse space. The company has 8,000-square-feet of refrigerated storage and ten sales departments that supply customers worldwide.
