Nash Produce Gears Up for Southern Innovations; Rebecca Scott Comments

NASHVILLE, NC - As September closes in, I turned to industry leaders to get a glimpse of the upcoming Southern Innovations Organics and Foodservice Expo. Put on by the Southeast Produce Council (SEPC), this show provides tons of networking opportunities in addition to extensive educational information presented by exhibitors and speakers. I got in contact with Nash Produce to find out what the company has planned for Southern Innovations. Pull up your boot straps and hang tight, because we’re about to take a deep dive into sweet potato splendor.

Rebecca Scott, Grower Accounting and Marketing, Nash Produce“We will be showcasing hand-picked, locally grown, organic sweet potatoes,” said Rebecca Scott of Grower Accounting and Marketing. “While we currently package our organic potatoes in mesh bagging and bulk loads, we are eager to discuss expanding our packaging opportunities to include steamable bags and individually wrapped microwaveable organic sweet potatoes to interested clientele.”

Aside from the sweet potato cornucopia, I asked Rebecca what she thinks attendees should know about Nash Produce going into the expo.

“We are not your typical produce packer. While being able to supply sweet potatoes year-round, we also have a unique circumstance where many of our growers actually own the company collectively,” explained Rebecca. “Even though our potatoes travel all over the world, every potato we pack comes from local family farms located in neighboring counties. We are truly a unified family of growers and employees that work together to meet and exceed expectations from the sweet potato field to consumer’s dinner plates.”

As growers gear up for harvest, Nash plans to discuss its 2019 crop projections and assure the continued commitment to meet customer’s needs. The company recognizes that consumer demands for healthy and versatile products are on the rise, so providing its locally grown and affordable sweet potatoes is a top-notch priority. When asked why Nash’s exhibition at Southern Innovations is valuable for the company, Rebecca replied:

“We always look forward to SEPC events! As returning exhibitors year after year, we look forward to reconnecting with familiar faces as well as meeting new contacts. In terms of representation, President Thomas Joyner and Sales Associate Thomas Webb will be attending to answer any questions event participants may have.”
