United Fresh Leadership Class 24 Kicks Off In Ohio



WASHINGTON, DC - The United Fresh Produce Industry Leadership Class 24 is welcoming new faces and kicking off its yearlong run in Ohio this week. As part of the program, Class 24 members will participate in leadership development opportunities as well as meet with industry members, like DNO Inc., Buurma Farms, Wiers Farm/Dutch Maid Logistics, Holthouse Farms, Detroit Produce Terminal, Fair Food Network, Mucci Farms, Red Sun Farms, and Pure Flavor, in various facilities in Ohio, Michigan, and Canada.

“It’s always a special moment for all of us at United Fresh when our class of up-and-coming produce industry professionals takes the first step in their leadership journey,” said Tom Stenzel, United Fresh Produce Association President. “Throughout their yearlong journey we will cheer them on as Class 24 prepares to become the future leaders of their companies and of our industry.”

Sponsored by Corteva Agriscience, the program includes extensive involvement from professional trainers, faculty, leading United Fresh members, and Corteva Agriscience executives, according to a press release. During the program’s yearlong run, students will hone their skills in leadership development, business relationships, government and public affairs, and media and public communications. Since its conception in 1995, the United Fresh Produce Industry Leadership program has graduated more than 200 industry professionals.

  • Brianna Shales, Stemilt Growers, Wenatchee, WA
  • Leslie Simmons, Dave’s Specialty Imports, Medley, FL
  • Lori Taylor, The Produce Moms, Indianapolis, IN
  • Ross Williams, Titan Farms, Ridge Spring, SC
