Anthony Innocenti Discusses LIV Produce's Sweet Potato Growth and Retail Program
CAPISTRANO BEACH, CA - As we make our way through one of the key promotional periods for sweet potatoes, suppliers across the country are fine-tuning their services and evolving their programs to best meet the demand of the holiday pull. LIV Produce is one such outfit, and one that has gained a ton of momentum in 2023 and is looking to carry its advantages and benefits into 2024 and beyond.
“We currently have an amazing co-op of grower partners and have fully expanded the horizon on our sweet potato volume, including all varieties, conventional and organic,” Managing Partner Anthony Innocenti shares with me. “We have an ample 52-week, nearly-year-round supply, and there's more exciting news to come about this."
Over the years since its entry into the sweet potato market, LIV Produce has gained retail support across the country and is now seeing this most recent growth phase come to fruition. With the promise of the new year and new products always top of mind, LIV Produce is looking to add additional value-added opportunities at the outset of 2024.
“One thing that complements our success is our ability to navigate and execute national distribution. It has really helped us and our ability to deliver anywhere in the country,” Anthony tells me.
In addition to a robust sweet potato program, LIV Produce’s organic citrus season is well underway.
“Through our steady increase of grower partners, we've really hit the ground running this year,” Anthony relays.
From grapefruit and lemons to Navel oranges, the fruit this year is getting to its optimal color and flavor for LIV Produce, which is looking to have its most successful year ever on citrus.
