BJ's Wholesale Club Plans to Acquire Assets and Operations From Burris Logistics; Bob Eddy, Jeff Desroches, and Donnie Burris Discuss



WESTBOROUGH, MA - BJ’s Wholesale Club is taking a long-term partnership to the next level with a recent acquisition. The chain recently unveiled a newly formed agreement to acquire the assets and operations of four distribution centers and the related private transportation fleet from key partner Burris Logistics.

With the completion of the acquisition, BJ’s will take ownership of four perishable goods distribution centers in Rocky Hill, Connecticut; Orlando, Florida; Elkton, Maryland; and Independence, Kentucky; as well as the personnel of these facilities, the associated real estate property, and the capital operational assets.

The transaction will allow BJ’s to insource its perishable supply chain, as explained in a press release.

Burris Logistics and BJ’s Wholesale Club have partnered for years to support the daily supply chain operations of the chain’s perishable business.

The acquisition has been unanimously approved by both companies’ Boards of Directors. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022; financial terms have not been disclosed.
