Frieda's Celebrates Pantone's Pick ‘Ultra Violet’ for 2018
LOS ALAMITOS, CA - Pantone, a global authority on color, sees a purple future for 2018. Ultra Violet has been named the color to tout for the coming year, and as reigning proprietor of all things purple in produce, Frieda’s Specialty is celebrating.
“The description of Ultra Violet hits home with us because purple has been our color from the very beginning,” said Alex Jackson Berkley about the announcement. “My grandmother, Frieda Rapoport Caplan, opened the business with a purple sign in 1962. She was the first woman to own a produce business and purple became a symbolic color for the company’s passion and innovation.”
Pantone chooses a color that symbolizes design trends and the cultural mood each year, and stated on its website, “Inventive and imaginative, Ultra Violet lights the way to what is yet to come.”
The selection also comes out hot on the heels of Frieda’s recent report naming colorful produce, including purple.
