Gwillimdale Farms Supports Local Community With Bradford Community Fridge Program; Courtney Walker Comments
BRADFORD, ONTARIO, CANADA - Community is more important than ever. We should always be doing our best to support the communities in which we live and serve, and Gwillimdale Farms is leading the charge through its latest initiative. Partnering with Bradford Helping Hand Food Bank, the supplier helped bring the Bradford Community Fridge to life.
“Gwillimdale is honored to sponsor this initiative because we highly value giving back to our community and want to help provide access to healthy food for Bradford residents, especially our nutritious and delicious root vegetables. Together, we’re building a stronger community,” commented Courtney Walker, Marketing Manager.
This project is a labor of love, as Gwillimdale built the fridge and supported its funding from the start. Every week, the company donates produce to fill the fridge and monitors its contents with the help of community volunteers.
“Unity is one of our core values at Gwillimdale which means it is extremely important to us to continuously be involved in initiatives that give back to our local community and industry,” Courtney added. “We saw the need to help nourish our community by providing fresh produce, and we decided to take action and develop the Bradford Community Fridge.”
Gwillimdale regularly fills the fridge with its root vegetables and encourages other businesses, teams, and individuals to help out if they can.
The fridge is open to the public 24/7 for anyone to take from, and its motto is a testament to the community: Take what you need, leave what you can.
We love seeing fresh produce companies do all they can to practice what they preach!
