Ippolito International Launches New Organic Brussels Sprouts
SALINAS, CA - Cruciferous veg is about to get a little bit more exciting in the organics aisle. Recently, Ippolito International rolled out two new organic Brussels sprouts products in its Queen Victoria fresh produce brand.
“Our 1 lb organic Brussels sprouts item is building on familiar ground. With its netted bag, this product offers retailers a convenient upgrade to traditional bulk Brussels sprouts,” said Dan Canales, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Processing. “The product is an excellent way for retailers to gain traction—or even introduce this category—into the organics space with their existing Brussels sprouts consumer base.”
As consumers are paying more attention to Brussels sprouts, this release couldn’t have come at a better time. The grower addresses consumer needs for packaged produce and convenience with the new 1 and 2 lb packaged products, each bringing added value to the category.
Ippolito’s 2 lb organic Brussels sprouts package is pre-washed and shipped in a display case. This gives retailers a convenient and easy product that will surely fly off the display and straight into shoppers’ baskets.
“The 2 lb organic Brussels sprouts package is more of a family-sized item and offers even more of a value-add as it is pre-washed. So this saves time. The consumer may also find the serving suggestions helpful,” Canales added.
According to the release, the package copy includes directions on how to microwave, roast, sauté, or steam Brussels sprouts. Currently, the 1 lb organic Brussels sprouts netted bag is offered in either a 12/1lb or 24/1lb pack, and the 2 lb organic Brussels sprouts are available in an 18/2lb display case.
“We’re finding that more than ever, our retail customers are picking up on the consumer awareness and growth of the Brussels sprouts category.
