TARRYTOWN, NY - The countdown is over. As consumers anticipate the return of more delicious, high-demand grape varieties, Jac. Vandenberg has announced that its SUNRAYS^® inaugural Sonoran grape season is officially underway.

“We are extremely excited to continue our SUNRAYS grape program with our Mexican grape growers,” said John Paap, Brand Manager. “We are confident that the quality and success we experienced with our Peruvian and Chilean grapes will continue out of Mexico.”

The SUNRAYS brand has shipped over 380,000 boxes from Peru and Chile in its first season in grapes and expects to pack more than 250,000 boxes out of Northern Mexico, as noted in a press release. The first SUNRAYS grapes from Mexico will be packed this weekend.

“Just as we established in Peru and Chile, we will have strict quality control measures in place to ensure all grapes packed in SUNRAYS are meeting the highest flavor and quality standards, which our retail partners and shoppers have grown accustomed to since SUNRAYS grapes entered the market,” Paap continued. “In fact, more than 50 percent of the varieties packed in the SUNRAYS brand will be proprietary varieties.”

The SUNRAYS Sonoran grape season will run through mid-July, before the grower transitions to its California crop. Jac. Vandenberg has aligned with several esteemed grape growers out of Mexico for its SUNRAYS program, allowing it to import a multitude of high-demand varieties including Sweet Globes, Sugar Drop, Sweet Celebration, Jack’s Salute, and more.

SUNRAYS grapes out of Mexico will be available in bags as well as clamshells, and are also Non-GMO Project Verified.
