Mastronardi Produce® Expands WOW™ Berries With New Varieties



KINGSVILLE, ON - It has clearly been a time of action for Mastronardi Produce®, which is unveiling yet more additions inside a week of its announcement of a new brand and category. Now, just two years after launching itself into the berry business, the greenhouse grower is expanding its lineup of WOW™ berries with three uniquely different and flavorful strawberry offerings: dreamberry™, pearberry™, and lolliberry™.

Grown in high-tech greenhouses for availability throughout the winter months, the new premium berries are exclusive to Mastronardi.

What does it mean to have a “strawberry for every taste?” Joining the dreamberry, which offers a true, classic strawberry taste with a balance of acidity and sweetness sheathed in a bright red color, are two new varieties:

  • The pearberry, a beautiful light pink strawberry, offers notes of pear and tart apple
  • The lolliberry, the sweetest of the three offerings, has low acidity and high sugar levels

The new additions will join their berry siblings in the black and gold label designs, memorable brand names, and gourmet luxury look that has grabbed and held shelf attention since the line’s introduction.

“My vision is to do exactly what we did in the tomato, pepper, and cucumber world, and horizontally expand the berry market,” shared Paul. “I believe that consumers will search for these berries by name, much like when we introduced the world’s first branded tomato, Campari®. I want to give consumers choices and give them the opportunity to purchase many different types of strawberries that each have totally different tastes and can please different palates.”

The company made this vision known when it initially partnered with BerryWorld® in 2018, making waves with a new approach not just to berry flavor, but packaging, branding, and product merchandising. Now, Mastronardi is taking this a step further with uniquely different flavors, shapes, and attributes to each of the strawberries in the WOW berry lineup.
