SALINAS, CA - Some marketing moves have the power to define a new decade, and in this industry, these are moves we take note of. Moxxy Marketing has provided our industry with some of the most innovative solutions around, and certainly made its mark on us all when the Southeastern Produce Council’s (SEPC) new website launched earlier this year. In recognition of this monumental marketing move, Moxxy Marketing has been honored with a 2020 American Web Design Award from Graphic Design USA (GDUSA).

Molly Briseño, Vice President, Moxxy Marketing"SEPC is highly respected and has a long history of supporting its industry partners. Our goal was to modernize and enhance the visual appeal of the site and improve its functionality, while also respecting the organization’s legacy and brand," said Moxxy Vice President Molly Briseño. "We’re thrilled to be recognized by GDUSA for our work, but even more so that SEPC has received a great deal of positive feedback about the look and usability of the updated site from members and others in the industry."

Among the upgrades Moxxy made to the website were revising the information hierarchy and navigation to make content more accessible, and improving the integration with a third-party website that SEPC uses to manage registration for its two key trade show conferences: Southern Exposure and Southern Innovations.

SEPC launched the enhanced website immediately prior to Southern Exposure, which was held in Tampa, Florida, February 27-29, 2020. According to a press release, this timing allowed SEPC to debut the new site to members, attendees, and the media while they were engaged at the show and potentially looking for information to be easily accessible.

David Sherrod, President and Chief Executive Officer, Southeastern Produce Council "Moxxy listened to our wishes and needs for modernizing the website, and did a great job retaining our brand equity. They streamlined the content and gave our site a fresh look that makes it easier for visitors to find information, and they kept the messaging in our authentic voice with the southern hospitality we are known for," said SEPC President and CEO David Sherrod. "The new site is easy for the staff to update and keep current too. We just love it."

SEPC also opens registration each year at Southern Exposure for its second annual show, Southern Innovations, which is scheduled to take place in Savannah, Georgia, September 17-19, 2020. For this reason, it was important that the new site was ready to promote Southern Innovations and accept registrations during Southern Exposure.

"SEPC members and vendors interested in attending and exhibiting at Southern Exposure and Southern Innovations found it challenging to understand the process and locate the information they needed. As a result, SEPC was continually fielding questions about the events," added Briseño. "Now, the relationship between SEPC and the registration websites is seamless, and the call volume has dropped significantly. Combined with the clean, bold, colorful visual aesthetic, the site now properly represents both the organization’s rich history and its commitment to innovation and exceptional customer service."

Congratulations to Moxxy Marketing on this well-deserved honor!
