Oppy and Dave's Market Support The Rhode Island Food Bank with "Put the Crunch on Hunger" Campaign
CANADA – In the spirit of holiday giving, Oppy and East Greenwich has just finished work on their second annual “Put the Crunch on Hunger” campaign, proceeds of which went to benefit the Rhode Island Food Bank. To raise the funds, Oppy donated 25 cents of the profits from each pound of JAZZ™, Envy™, or Pacific Rose™ apples purchased at Dave’s Market between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. The food bank will use the proceeds to provide warm meals to those in need this winter.
TJ Wilson, a Business Development Representative at Oppy, said in a recent press release, “We’ve set a goal of $2,500 which we hope will make a meaningful difference for area families in need. Dave’s customers are enjoying some of the freshest and most flavorful apples currently available while providing welcome support for those less fortunate in the community. The holidays can be really rough when you are experiencing unfortunate circumstances. We are grateful to Dave’s and their generous shoppers for extending a little extra help to their neighbors again this year.”
To bolster sales during the promotion, Dave’s Market worked hard to draw in shoppers through both traditional and nontraditional means. In addition to POS materials—including signage, banners, and large displays in nine of the Dave’s Marketplace stores—the promotion encouraged social media engagement.
