Oppy's Caitlin Gerstenberger Discusses Southern Exposure Theme Alignment and Show Floor Plans
TAMPA, FL - If you want to tour the world while staying on the show floor of this year’s Southern Exposure, I recommend adding Oppy to your schedule. Marketing partner for some of the industry’s hottest brands, including Zespri SunGold, Jazz™ and Envy™ apples, and Ocean Spray®, this is a stop no one on the buy-side should want to miss.
“Oppy always looks forward to Southern Exposure because of its unique format, which is designed to facilitate networking and encourage communication between all members of the produce industry. Because of the intimate size of the show, we are able to have more insightful conversations with key industry players,” Caitlin Gerstenberger, Business Development Representative, shares.
Another way that the Southeast Produce Council (SEPC) helps differentiate itself is by making each event count in more ways than one. This year’s Southern Exposure, for example, has a double-theme of Mardi Gras and Make a Difference, highlighting some of the best moves the industry is making in a fun way, and Oppy is perfectly aligned with that direction.
“Oppy has always been committed to making a difference in all the communities in which we operate, as represented by our ‘expect the world from us’ promise,” Cailtin explains. “For example, we have proudly worked with Fair Trade Certified™ produce since 2004, whose premiums help fulfill urgent needs of the community in which they’re grown by supporting healthcare, education, fresh water access, and other essential programs. In 2018 alone, Oppy generated $893,000 in premiums which accounts for over 11 percent of total Fair Trade premiums from North America.”
Not only does she point that this reflects an increasingly stronger drive by consumers for sustainable and ethical produce, but also Oppy’s continuous development of a high-level commitment to environmental stewardship. This includes a partnership with BC Marine Trails Network and a global effort from all Oppy’s teams to make a difference wherever it may be needed most.
You can learn all about it at booth #100. Acquiring knowledge is, as Cailtin points out, one of the key draws of Southern Exposure.
“The SEPC always hosts a well-rounded, educational, fun show; whether it’s Southern Exposure or Southern Innovations. We are looking forward to seeing our friends, colleagues, and customers participating in the educational seminars, learning from the great lineup of speakers, and showcasing our products with the rest of the industry,” Caitlin concludes.
Looking forward to all we get to learn as we continue counting down to this year’s Southern Exposure in Tampa, Florida, February 27 - 29.
