BAKERSFIELD, CA - Bringing on even more expertise to enhance its fruit quality program and broaden the global marketing insights offered to licensees, Sun World International has made headlines with a few recent hires. The global provider announced that Elena Hernandez has joined the team as Director of Global Marketing Insights, alongside Pablo Gómez who has been named Director of Quality Insights.

Elena Hernandez, Director of Global Marketing Insights, Sun World InternationalHernandez’s expertise is backed by 20 years of experience in produce marketing, insights, and innovation gained from roles at Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Mann’s Fresh Vegetables, and Earthbound Farms. She also holds a degree in agriculture business from California State University, Chico.

In her new role, she will be responsible for developing global varietal branding strategies, leading varietal marketing initiatives, gathering and reporting on global marketing insights, and fostering connections among Sun World’s licensees and retailers worldwide, a press release explained. She will continue to be based in California.

Pablo Gómez, Director of Quality Insights, Sun World InternationalWith a primary focus on table grapes, Gómez brings nearly a decade’s experience in quality for the produce industry. He started his career as a grape-sourcing technologist for the U.K. market and has since worked in global quality assurance for produce importers and other variety development and licensing companies. He holds an agricultural engineering degree from The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena) in Spain.

In his new role, Gómez will continue to be based in Spain and will work with licensees and market counterparts to ensure Sun World brands deliver a consistent high-quality eating experience for consumers in all markets.
