Syngenta has announced its newest deal with Pasteuria Bioscience, Inc., a US based biotechnology company. In recent years, Syngenta and Pasteuria have developed and commercialized biological products to control plant-parasitic nematodes.

Nematodes, known as an issue amongst crops, leave growers with limited solutions. Also known as roundworms, nematodes are nearly invisible to the naked eye. Though their microscopic size, the parasites can create severe to complete damage to various plants. http://nematology.umd.edu/nemaintro.html

With the new partnership, an introduction of specific products will complement Syngenta’s existing chemical nematicide range, which will be available to a variety of crops including vegetables.

Payments of $86 million with additional deferred payments will be made underway to Pasteuria Bioscience, Inc.
