Westfalia Fruit Implements AgroFresh Solutions' FreshCloud™ Quality Inspection to Combat Food Waste; Kim Bui and Ryan Larkan Discuss
PHILADELPHIA, PA - The fight against food waste has spurred a rise in the AgTech sector, with companies like AgroFresh Solutions creating innovative new options for produce industry businesses to optimize the supply chain. Looking to minimize product loss, Westfalia Fruit is the latest produce name to partner with AgroFresh, announcing that it will utilize the solutions provider's FreshCloud™ at its Westfalia Fruit USA operation.

FreshCloud Quality Inspection is AgroFresh’s proprietary cloud-based platform that captures, organizes, and analyzes metrics in real time, digitizing the quality control process. As a release explained, this platform will enable Westfalia to track and score the quality metrics of its avocados instantly, streamlining the fruit-quality inspection process while providing complete visibility.
Ultimately, the goal of implementing this platform will be to reduce food waste for Westfalia by lowering rejections and improving the consistency of the company’s avocados moving through its operations.
