With February on the horizon, BC Tree Fruits is gearing up for Apple Month with a series of media hits that will bring its apple campaign to consumers across Western Canada. The company will be hitting the road beginning in February, with a host of events beginning with on-camera cooking segments featuring one of BC Tree Fruits' apple growers, Darcel Markgraf. Darcel is also a nutritionist and will be incorporating apples into some of consumers' favorite dishes. The kid-friendly approach to increasing fruit consumption has inspired her to create recipes that include apple tacos, pizzas, and monster apple cookies.

BC Tree Fruits will also be conducting mall samplings in Calgary, Edmonton, and Saskatoon with the company's ambrosia apples. Consumers can also enter BC Tree Fruits' Apple Month contest "Good to Go" at applemonth.com. The contest promotes apples as a portable healthy snack.

Participants can snap a photo of themselves enjoying a BC Tree Fruits apple and upload it onto the contest website applemonth.com. Apple lovers can then vote on their favorite image. The winner will receive $2,000 in cash and $2,000 to donate to their favorite charity. The contest closes March 4th.

Chris Pollock, Marketing Manager, tells AndNowUKnow, "Apple Month gives us the opportunity to connect with consumers and promote fresh produce consumption. This year we are introducing them to new and creative ways to enjoy our fruit through tastings and innovative recipes."
