WASHINGTON, DC - Customer service is a vital part of any business, as it strengthens the key partnerships that keep a company thriving. In order to ensure a seamless customer experience, the Equitable Food Initiative (EFI) recently appointed produce industry veteran Michael Lacey to the role of Business Development Manager.

Michael Lacey, Business Development Manager, Equitable Food InitiativeIn his new position, Lacey will be responsible for engaging produce growers in EFI’s certification program and guaranteeing the organization’s partners a smooth experience, a press release noted. He will also facilitate outreach to industry members through trade shows and industry events, determine the scope of audit for growers seeking EFI certification, and provide guidance to growers during the audit and certification processes.

Lacey adds over 30 years of sales and marketing experience to EFI, along with deep roots in the agriculture and fresh produce industries. He started his career at Marriott Hotels International, from which he then transitioned to selling branded fresh produce to major retailers and foodservice companies. After that, Lacey started his own sales and consulting company for several grower/shippers in produce.

Setting out to ensure a seamless customer experience, the Equitable Food Initiative recently welcomed produce  veteran Michael Lacey to the role of Business Development Manager
