WASHINGTON, DC - Ahead of the White House Harvest and Halloween event, Frey Farms has shared an official statement from Founder and CEO Sarah Frey. The message underscores the enduring partnership between American farmers and the nation’s leaders, celebrating agriculture’s vital role in both nourishment and tradition.

"Since the late 50's, the White House has publicly celebrated the annual harvest and resulting fall family fun and used traditional Halloween decorations like pumpkins throughout the Executive Mansion and grounds. From large parties to small family gatherings, the celebration of the bounty that comes about from America's farmlands has persisted throughout the last thirteen Presidencies. Since the late 80’s, trick-or-treaters have descended upon the South Lawn in this event, with President Biden seeing the number of attendees grow by thousands.

President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump continue to decorate the White House honor tradition and host this celebration. Through their actions, the President and First Lady are demonstrating their appreciation for the hard work and patriotism of American farmers — people who faithfully plant seeds in the soil and look forward to an annual harvest that they hope will feed their families and others.

Along with a few other American Farmers, Frey Farms was honored to make a donation of a portion of our harvest to help ensure a proper celebration of American agriculture and the power of eating fresh American grown produce.

Proving healthy whole foods such as our pumpkins; which are a rich, nutrient-dense, healthy and whole food in addition to being festive decorations — helps our nation honor farmers and the bounty of our land. Importantly, these pumpkins will also become a key piece of holiday meals and other food assistance distributed by the local nonprofit DC Central Kitchen.

Thousands of children and families will trick-or-treat this year on the South Lawn, there has never been a better moment for us to come together as the American people around common interests like healthy eating and the importance of American-grown produce.”
