Kristin Yerecic Scott Named as Southeast Produce Council's 2020 Next Generation Award Recipient
MILLEN, GA - An industry honor means much in the produce world, as accolades are earned through hard work and constant dedication. Someone who fits this description to a tee is Kristin Yerecic Scott, the Southeast Produce Council’s (SEPC) latest Next Generation Award recipient.
For those who know her, Yerecic Scott is a tour de force. She is the Marketing Director and Board of Officers member at Yerecic Label, and a third-generation family member. In this position, Yerecic Scott is responsible for the branding, advertising, public relations, trade show, and sales material development. On top of all of that, she leads the Pre-Order Cross Functional team.
Yerecic Label, a press release explained, is a pressure sensitive label supplier serving the fresh produce industry. In this space, Yerecic Scott helps the company focus on consumer trends, packaging insights, and market research to intimately understand retail, grower/shipper, and shopper needs.
She proudly serves on the SEPC Board of Directors as is also the Education Committee Co-Chair. She graduated from Ohio University with a BS in Strategic Communications, and minors in both economics and business.
This prestigious award was created to honor an SEPC member that is 39 years or younger who has been employed in the produce industry for at least four years and has made a significant contribution to the industry.
“The award ceremony holds special meaning to the council and myself with this year’s platform being Produce: Powered by People. With current travel restrictions and work from home policies in place for the majority of us, this is the perfect opportunity to recognize and celebrate the rising stars of our industry. Health and wellness checks have also been woven into the organizational and cultural fabric of the produce industry and after vetting the list of nominees, its safe to say our business is incredibly healthy and the future is bright,” shared Harold Paivarinta, SEPC Chairman of the Board, and Director of Sales and Business Development for Red Sun Farms.
In addition to this announcement, SEPC is utilizing its Virtual Garden, the council’s newest platform, to connect members. Through this platform, SEPC members can look forward to SEPC University Educational Sessions, chef demos, and produce inspection training courses.
The upcoming Southern Exposure will take place on this platform as it has evolved into a hybrid conference for members who cannot attend in person.
Congratulations to Kristin on this honor!
