Naturipe Farms' Steve Ware and CarrieAnn Arias Discuss Product Innovations
SALINAS, CA - As I figuratively walked away from Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit, I had a lot to think about. "So many new products, too little time," was on a loop in my head. Luckily for me, I had a chance to speak with Naturipe Farms’ Vice President and General Manager of Value-Added, Steve Ware; as well as Vice President of Marketing CarrieAnn Arias, to find out more about the company's product innovations.
“Retailers are loving the Bliss Bentos™! The line extension has been very well received, and we have continued to roll out these healthy indulgent snacks with new retail partners and expand into new markets since our July launch,” Steve explained. “We’re even seeing a great demand from unexpected outlets, such as convenience stores, since these are a unique snack offering of fresh produce that’s great for those on the go.”
As it commits to building up ready-to-eat products, Naturipe continues to position itself for further penetration in the fresh produce snacking sector. The high demand for healthy on-the-go snacks led to its introduction of Naturipe Snacks™ a few years ago, and the recent rebranding of the original Snacks product line to Boost Bentos™, to better align with the corporate rebrand and further connect with shoppers.
“The Boost Bentos combine specialty ingredients such as nuts and cheeses with fresh Naturipe fruit for a flavorful boost of protein. The Bliss Bentos combine unique ingredients like chocolate covered chickpeas with fresh fruit for a sweeter, indulgent treat," Steve added. "Naturipe will continue to develop additional unique flavor combinations, expanding our snacks, and delivering new fresh produce snacking options that ensure we are providing our consumers with the products they are asking for.”
As we approach the holidays, promotions become top of mind—especially as retailers look for new and exciting ways to engage consumers.
“Naturipe Snacks are ready-to-eat, individually-packaged snacks that are convenient for anyone on the go, especially during this upcoming holiday season,” CarrieAnn noted. “The convenience of the snacks allows consumers to fuel their bodies in the middle of their busy holiday schedules with no added time or effort. May I also add, I wouldn’t mind seeing a Bliss Bento in my stocking! I’m sure I can’t be the only one.
