Officials in Spain Uncover Over 470 Pounds of Drugs in Vegetable Shipment



SPAIN - Unfortunately, our fresh produce has once again been an innocent victim in the world of drug smuggling. In Seville, Spain, authorities uncovered 155 kilos (341 pounds) of cannabis and 60 kilos (132 pounds) of hasish, for a total of 473 pounds of illegal substances.

The suspects smuggled the drugs in a palette of vegetables using fake number plates and employing lookout vehicles, Euro Weekly News reported. Police first spotted signs of trouble when they noticed several foreign nationals traveling between warehouses. All seven suspects are currently in custody.
