Sakata Seed America Appoints Eduardo Flores as Chief Operations Officer; Dave Armstrong and John Nelson Share
MORGAN HILL, CA - A multifaceted leader with a vast range of expertise is sure to bolster any operation, especially when that expertise can be harnessed to optimize the supply chain. Sakata Seed America announced it has appointed Eduardo Flores to the role of Chief Operations Officer, where he will oversee all of the company’s logistics, operations, and seed production activity in North and Central America.
“Across my career, I’ve shared Sakata’s belief that seeds have the potential to improve lives and create healthier communities,” said Flores. “This is a remarkable opportunity to combine my passion for seeds and merge it with my professional business experience to contribute to Sakata and our colleagues.”
Flores brings significant supply-side experience, with extensive knowledge on leading supply chain operations for vegetable seeds. Prior to joining Sakata, Flores served as Regional Operations Director for Monsanto’s North American vegetables business and was also the commercial lead for De Ruiter, a leader in high-tech greenhouse tomato seeds and other crops. Most recently, according to a press release, Flores led global strategy for Netherlands-based Dummen Orange.
Based in the provider's Morgan Hill, California, headquarters, Flores will report to John Nelson, Executive Vice President, and administratively to Dave Armstrong, President and Chief Executive Officer.
“We are excited to have Ed join Sakata,” Armstrong noted about the recent apppointment. “Ed’s strong operational background and cross-cultural experience is a great fit for Sakata.”
Flores is fluent in both English and Spanish and obtained a B.S. in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from The Institute of Technology and Higher Education of Monterrey (Mexico) and an MBA from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
“Ed will be an immediate contributor to Sakata,” added Nelson. “Ed brings the ability to enhance Sakata’s industry-leading supply chain team.”
Congratulations to this industry expert for taking the helm as Chief! ANUK will stay tuned for future announcements to come from the seed purveyor.
