Coliman Bananas - Grupo AGGALL Celebrates 47th Anniversary, 3rd Anniversary of Don Jorge Aguilar Heredia Foundation; Jorge Angel Aguilar Jr. Comments
MEXICO - The month of April marked an important milestone for Coliman Bananas. This year, the company celebrated the 47th anniversary of Coliman Bananas - Grupo AGGALL, a family business that has grown with passion, innovation, and a strong sense of social responsibility. Founded by Jorge Aguilar Heredia, Grupo AGGALL began its journey in 1978 with the opening of its first commercial center in Hermosillo, Sonora. Today, the company is proudly led by Heredia’s son, Jorge Angel Aguilar Gallegos, President and Chief Executive Officer of Grupo AGGALL.
This anniversary also marks another special occasion: the 3rd anniversary of the Don Jorge Aguilar Heredia Foundation, an initiative created to honor the legacy of its Founder through social programs that benefit communities, employees, and future generations.

"Our foundation is a reflection of our values. It allows us to give back and continue to create positive change," Jorge Angel Aguilar Jr., President and CEO, Grupo AGGALL, commented.
The Coliman Bananas brand has its roots in the state of Colima, Mexico, where it was originally founded by Custodio Aguilar. With several decades of experience in the harvesting, marketing, and distribution of conventional and organic bananas, Coliman Bananas continues to be a key player in the agricultural industry, both in Mexico and around the world.
Currently, Coliman Bananas - Grupo AGGALL is undergoing a transformation process to streamline communications. One element of this transformation is the company’s adoption of the 'Coliman Bananas' brand to speak directly to its end consumers.

Coliman's banana farms are located in the tropical regions of Colima and Chiapas, where fertile soils and optimal climates ensure top-quality production. The bunches are carefully cut by hand and transported to modern packing plants, where the fruit is selected according to strict standards to ensure freshness, correct calibration, and ideal moisture levels.
Coliman bananas are marketed throughout much of Mexico, and the company continues to expand its presence in the rest of the country and in new international markets. Today, it exports to North America and Asia, supplying countries such as the United States, Canada, China, Japan, and South Korea. Despite logistical and cost challenges, Coliman remains committed to innovation and operational excellence to maintain its competitive edge.
Rooted in responsibility, Coliman Bananas operates with a vision rooted in social and environmental responsibility. Certified by Fairtrade and GLOBALG.A.P., the company prioritises the well-being of everyone in its ecosystem—from workers and farmers to suppliers and the communities it serves.

The Don Jorge Aguilar Heredia Foundation is an example of this commitment. Since its inception in 2022, the foundation has launched initiatives focused on education, health, community development, and sustainability.
"We believe that a company grows stronger when it uplifts others," added Aguilar Jr.
As part of its ongoing transformation, Coliman Bananas is also improving efficiency and harnessing the talent of its employees.
"We are building a future of nutrition, health, and well-being where everyone in our supply chain thrives,” concluded Aguilar Jr.
