Founding Family Member Julie Teel Joins Raley's Board of Directors
SACRAMENTO, CA - Raley’s is further bolstering its family feel from behind the scenes, having just named Julie Teel as a new Director for the retailer’s Board, effective immediately.
“With our mutual commitment to see Raley’s prosper as a family-owned business, I’m pleased to welcome Julie to the Board of Directors,” said Michael Teel, Owner & Chief Executive Officer. “Julie is committed to helping steer the organization towards continued growth and success, connected to Raley’s vision and purpose and passionate about our people.”
Julie brings extensive business knowledge and philanthropic experience, according to a press release, being actively involved in supportive efforts across Northern California and Nevada. Amongst her service has been serving as a Trustee for Loyola Marymount University, as well as being a Board member for the Northern California and Northern Nevada Chapter of Make-A-Wish and the Tahoe Fund.
She has a Bachelor’s of Science degree from San Francisco State University and a Master’s degree in Management from Sonoma State University.
The retail chain was founded over 80 years ago by Joyce Raley Teel’s father, Tom Raley. She transferred her ownership of the chain to Michael Teel in May of 2015, who has since announced a vision pushing even further the company’s involvement in fresh produce and local communities.
“I want to continue that legacy, and continue to invest in the Sacramento region," said Michael Teel. "It’s poised for growth and so are we. This is our home, and we’re here to stay.”
The AndNowUKnow team congratulates Julie on this new step in her career, and Raley’s latest move on bolstering the family involvement in its leadership.
