ITHACA, NY - The Cornell University Greenhouse Lighting and Systems Engineering (GLASE) consortium is bringing together academia and industry applications through its latest virtual short course. The course will focus on three interactive greenhouse systems and will feature experts from the academic world and industry to share how growers can select and operate greenhouse coverings, climate screens, and supplemental horticultural lighting.

This course is sponsored by Hoogendoorn Growth Management, Philips Horticulture LED Lighting, Svensson Climate Screens, and AGCULTURE by AGC, a release stated.

The Greenhouse Systems Short Course is an educational series that will explore three major systems maintaining greenhouse environments and their interactive effects. To showcase the ways these systems improve plant quality and yields and save energy in greenhouses, industry experts will define the types of commercially available coverings, curtains, and lighting systems, show how these systems work together to support plant growth and development and share real-world case studies. By the end of this virtual course, participants will be able to make informed decisions about selecting and using greenhouse systems in their growing operations.

The 2024 GLASE Short Course will run from April 4–May 9 and will feature six 90-minute modules presented over six weeks on Thursdays from 2–3:30 p.m. ET. Attendees will participate in live sessions and Q&A sessions with speakers. They will also receive a discounted GLASE membership. Recordings will be available on-demand in June.
