WEST DES MOINES, IA - A new fresh-focused Hy-Vee opened earlier this month in Davenport, Iowa. The first-of-its-kind store, dubbed “Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh” is, according to a press release, intended to serve busy on-the-go customers with a more convenient grocery and meal experience.

“Our 10,000-square-foot store will give you many reasons to visit, including Starbucks coffee with a drive-thru, a growler craft beer station, and Hy-Vee Aisles Online pickup for convenience on-the-go,” said Denise Pattison, Store Director, in an open invitation to the store’s grand opening, held on December 11th.

The store offers a number of features that marry the traditional c-store’s convenience (fuel pumps, fountain drinks, donuts) with a traditional grocer's focus on fresh food. Among other fresh offerings, the store features:

• Nori sushi and wood-oven pizza
• An ample selection of fresh produce
• Meal kits
• Made-to-order meals for carry-out or dinning in

A second Fast & Fresh location is expected to open in Altoona, Iowa, in 2019.
