New York Apple Association Launches Search for Next CEO; Thomas Coene Comments
FISHERS, NY - The New York Apple Association (NYAA), representing more than 500 apple growers across New York State, has announced the launch of a national search for its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking a pivotal leadership transition for the organization and the broader New York apple industry.
NYAA serves as the unified voice for New York apples, leading statewide marketing and promotion efforts that strengthen demand and connect the industry to consumers and buyers. Through coordinated promotional campaigns, market development initiatives, and stakeholder engagement, the Association plays a central role in positioning New York apples in competitive markets while supporting growers and shippers across the state.
The organization works closely with growers, marketers, and other industry stakeholders to expand market opportunities and ensure consistent, effective representation of New York apples. From consumer-facing campaigns to industry communications, NYAA’s efforts are designed to increase visibility, build demand, and reinforce the value of New York apples across the supply chain.
The CEO will serve as the organization’s chief executive and primary spokesperson, guiding strategic priorities while ensuring strong execution across programs, partnerships, and day-to-day operations. This role requires translating strategy into action and delivering measurable results for the industry while maintaining strong relationships across a diverse, evolving stakeholder landscape.
NYAA is seeking a proven leader with experience guiding organizations through growth and change. The ideal candidate brings a clear strategic perspective, strong business or marketing acumen, and the ability to build alignment across a diverse set of stakeholders. While familiarity with agriculture or produce is valuable, the Association is focused on identifying a leader who can navigate complexity, make sound decisions, and drive meaningful impact.
“We are looking for someone who can build on the strength of this organization while positioning New York apples for continued growth and relevance in the years ahead,” said Thomas Coene, NYAA Board of Directors Chairman, in the recent release.
This opportunity comes at a time of continued evolution within the agricultural landscape. The next CEO will play a key role in shaping how New York apples are positioned in the marketplace and how the industry continues to adapt to changing consumer expectations and market dynamics.
Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply and help shape the future of one of New York’s most vital agricultural sectors.
