REEDLEY, CA - Prima® Wawona is taking its contribution to consumer health up a notch as the stonefruit producer has made the exciting announcement that it is organizing the Second Annual Prima® Run and two-mile family walk. The competitive 5K run will take place during the Regional Health & Fitness Expo on April 1–2, 2023, at its Reedley Cold Storage and Shipping Facility, with the walk happening right after it.

The events will happen in conjunction with the Health & Fitness Expo of Reedley, a release explained. To host the 5K and family walk, Prima Wawona teamed up with the Greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce and Central Valley Throwdown, and together they are looking to inspire families to live healthy, active lifestyles.

Prima® Wawona is organizing the Second Annual Prima® Run and two-mile family walk

The competitive 5K run will start at 6:50 a.m., and the top three male and female runners who place will receive commemorative medals. The 2K family walk will begin at 8:30 a.m., and it is free for all using the code Prima23.

Additionally, there will be a featured Fitness Expo with athletic competitions, exercise classes, workshops, and obstacle courses, along with food vendors. Gnardog will be hosting The Central Valley Throwdown consisting of a CrossFit competition. Organizers of the event anticipate about 3,000 attendees from across the region.

“The goal of this event is to engage and encourage the families in our region to live healthy active lives by introducing them to programs and activities that they may not have known about,” said Greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer Erik Valencia.
