Sprouts Continues Florida Expansion, Opening Stores in Jacksonville and Oviedo
FLORIDA - Sprouts Farmers Market is the one true love of my life—catch me on the way to the courthouse, because we're about to get hitched! In all seriousness though, my love for Sprouts isn’t only because the grocer carries affordable and healthy items: It stems from the retailer’s consistent expansion plan across the United States.
Its latest expansion steps are in Florida, where neighboring grocer Publix has reigned supreme in the hearts of Floridians. With plans to open the first of two stores in Jacksonville, and one in metro Orlando, it would seem that Sprouts is taking the bull by the horns in terms of challenging its competition.
"It's been a pretty rapid expansion, and we continue to hear from customers all over the state that want a Sprouts in their neighborhood," Diego Romero, Corporate Communications Manager, stated to Orlando Business Journal. "We are always looking for sites, so we do anticipate growing in Orlando and the state."
Each store will offer farm-fresh fruits and veggies, as well as natural meats, seafoods, and prepared foods.
“Sprouts is very different from the conventional grocery store in the fact that we have 90 percent natural and organic items,” said Kalia Pang, Senior Public Relations Specialist, in a report by Jacksonville.com. “We know there is a big demand for natural and organic grocers in Jacksonville especially at an everyday price approachable for all shoppers. We’re opening in Jacksonville to meet that growing need.”
