Texas International Produce Association Announces 15,403 lb Fresh Produce Donation to North Texas Food Bank; Dante Galeazzi and Reid Ainsworth Comment



MISSION, TX - In its ongoing efforts to provide local communities with nutritious fresh produce, the Texas International Produce Association (TIPA) has unveiled a recent 15,403 lb produce donation to the North Texas Food Bank of Plano, Texas. The donation was made at the end of the Viva Fresh Produce Expo with the help of the more than 200 industry companies that exhibited.

Dante Galeazzi, President and Chief Executive Officer, Texas International Produce Association“We grow, import, and ship healthy produce from Texas to all over North America, yet nearly 1 million individuals in North Texas alone face hunger and food insecurity, and that number grows as you move further around the state,” Dante Galeazzi, President and Chief Executive Officer of TIPA, remarked. “Our organization and our industry members work with food banks not only in Texas, but around the United States to provide invaluable access to fresh produce that provides hunger relief back with natural nutrition, vitamins, and flavor.”

This large donation will provide roughly 12,800 meals to families in need by offering fresh produce to food pantries and meal programs across North Texas, a press release stated.

In 2021, the North Texas Food Bank served more than 125 million meals and gave food assistance to families, children, seniors, and disaster relief through a network of over 400 food pantries and organizations in the region.
