Trader Joe’s Announces Partnership With Magnusmode

MONROVIA, CA - In an aim to diversify its shopper strategy, Trader Joe’s is partnering with Magnusmode to ensure its customers are welcomed and valued. The retail chain recently announced a collaboration with MagnusCards™, a free app dedicated to making the world a more accessible place for people with cognitive and intellectual disabilities. With this new partnership, Trader Joe’s is continuing its mission to bring convenience to all of its consumers.

Kenya Friend-Daniel, National Director, Public Relations, Trader Joe's"Creating a positive and inclusive shopping experience is our utmost priority, so we’re thrilled to be able to offer our customers this wonderful tool,” Trader Joe’s National Director, Public Relations Kenya Friend-Daniel said. “It’s a tremendous opportunity to further support our customers and their caregivers.”

According to the release, Trader Joe’s is the first grocery store to partner with the app. The launch occurred just in time for World Autism Day, as well as the commencement of Autism Acceptance Month.

Nadia Hamilton, Founder and President, Magnusmode“Grocery stores can be challenging places for individuals with autism, but the basic necessity of buying food and the simple pleasure of selecting what you plan to eat is vital for all people,” said Magnusmode Founder and President Nadia Hamilton. “Trader Joe’s MagnusCards provide support for a critical skill set that everyone needs and a fun experience that everyone deserves.”

The MagnusCards app guides users through tasks and activities that might otherwise feel challenging or overwhelming. While in-store, shoppers can use digitalized “Card Decks” to complete everyday tasks, such as “Checking Out Your Items” and “Sensory Experiences in the Store.”

Using visual cues and step-by-step instructions (with optional audio enhancement), each Deck focuses on a different aspect of the Trader Joe’s shopping experience. As Magnusmode’s very first grocery partner, Trader Joe’s is offering five TJ’s-related Card Decks within the app.

While retailers continue to expand their offerings, both on the shelf and off, how will the industry continue to adapt to meet consumers’ needs? AndNowUKnow will keep an eye on the newswire, so keep a tab open.
