Amazon Expands Austin Tech Hub and Announces Plans to Create 800 New Tech Jobs



SEATTLE, WA - Amazon is heading south to the Lone Star State, expanding its Austin Tech Hub, and creating 800 new tech jobs. Together with its customer fulfillment facilities, the e-tailer has created more than 22,000 full-time jobs in Texas and has invested over $7 billion in the state since 2011.

According to a press release, the new jobs center around software and hardware engineering, research science, and cloud computing.

Amazon’s Austin Tech Hub is one of the company’s 17 North American Tech Hubs—a network of development centers in addition to Amazon’s Seattle and Northern Virginia headquarters. Employees at these Hubs build new products and services for Amazon customers around the world.
