DENVER, CO - After a year of growth and lessons learned for the company, Chipotle is once again doubling down on its commitment to expanding its work force with a 5,000 employee hiring spree.

Opening more than 200 new restaurants this year, a spokesperson told CNN Money that the 5,000 new workers are needed to solidify its growth. This freshly announced spree comes almost exactly a year following the company’s last big influx of employees. Last September, Chipotle’s so-dubbed National Career Day yielded more than 4,000 new employees for the chain. According to CNN Money, more than 65,000 registered for interviews. 

This year, Chipotle says it plans to interview up to 100 applicants at every one of its nearly 2,000 U.S. restaurant locations. No prior experience is required for employment, and applicants can register for the even online. PR Director for Chipotle, Chris Arnold, told CNNMoney that the average time an employee goes from entry-level crew to general manager is about 20 months. Arnold also emphasized the fact that Chipotle wants its employees to stick with Chipotle and move on to higher positions. 

As we reported during last year’s Career Day, the typical career path within the company includes kitchen manager (with a company-wide average salary of $33,000 annually), service manager ($36,000), apprentice ($53,000) and general manager ($67,000).

In total, Chipotle employs around 60,000 people across the nation.
