Morgan Tinari, Director of Marketing, D'Arrigo California

“We have a lot to look forward to as we approach an important company milestone in 2027: 100 years of the Andy Boy label! For nearly a century, the Andy Boy brand has been built on a commitment to quality, consistency, and trust. It’s an exciting time to celebrate and honor the history and relationships that have shaped our brand, while continuing to look toward the future,” says Morgan Tinari, Director of Marketing. “We look forward to sharing more about our centennial celebration and welcoming everyone to our new booth, #2479, at the Global Produce & Floral Show.”

Alongside its new Baby Romaine Hearts, D’Arrigo California will also be debuting a new and improved booth experience, establishing a fresh space to showcase its products and the Andy Boy brand.

“One of D’Arrigo California’s greatest strengths is our ability to evolve while staying true to the foundation of our business,” Morgan tells me. “As a vertically integrated grower, packer, and shipper, we have over 100 years of experience in fresh produce and are involved throughout the entire process—from seed development, growing, and harvesting through packing, cooling, and shipping. That experience, paired with a focus on innovation, automation, sustainability and continued investment in our products and operations, allows us to continue advancing while maintaining the quality and consistency our customers have come to expect from the Andy Boy brand.”

From advancements in automated production and harvesting equipment to data-driven decision-making, innovation has become an integral part of how produce is grown and brought to the marketplace. Recognizing this, the company is able to keep pace with quickly evolving consumer and retail demands.

“The fresh produce industry is always evolving, and companies are challenged to deliver greater value to the consumer while simultaneously becoming more efficient throughout the supply chain,” Morgan adds. “Changing consumer expectations, economic pressures, and advances in technology continue to drive the industry to innovate and find new solutions. Value has become increasingly important, with consumers looking not only at price, but at the overall value a product delivers through quality, freshness, and shelf-life.”

An increased focus on nutrition is also priming the produce department for growth.

“We’re also seeing a greater interest in health and nutrition, as shoppers become more intentional about the foods they eat, how they are grown, and where they come from,” Morgan explains. “Fresh produce is naturally well positioned in this movement, creating an opportunity for our industry to educate consumers not only about the nutritional benefits of fruits and vegetables and ways to incorporate them into their diets, but also about where their food comes from.”

As part of D’Arrigo California’s consumer education efforts, the supplier has made it a priority to give consumers a behind-the-scenes look at how produce is grown, harvested, packed, and shipped from its fields to the marketplace. Through the @andyboyproduce Instagram and Facebook accounts, the company regularly shares content directly from its fields and facilities, helping consumers better understand the people, processes, and care behind the produce they purchase.

There’s more to learn about this nearly 100-year-old brand, so be sure to stop by booth #2479 at the Global Produce & Floral Show!
