Fareway Acquires Brick Street Market and Café; Reynolds W. Cramer Explains

BOONE, IA - No matter the size of the acquisition, it is still exciting to see retailers expanding. Fareway recently made an announcement that it has agreed to purchase Brick Street Market and Café, a 20,000-square-foot store that has a full-service grocery store and foodservice operation. The purchase and transition are expected to be finalized in early 2023.

Reynolds W. Cramer, Chief Executive Officer, Fareway“We are excited to expand Fareway Meat & Grocery into Bondurant,” said Fareway Chief Executive Officer Reynolds W. Cramer. “We look forward to serving area residents locally and becoming an integral part of the Bondurant community. Eight years ago, Brian and Mary Lohse brought a local grocer to Bondurant, and we are grateful they believe in Fareway to carry on their efforts.”

Throughout its history, Fareway has worked hard to maintain a reputation for providing high-quality fare, including farm-fresh produce at competitive prices.

The addition of a café will figure nicely into the retailer’s dedication to providing for its community.

“In 2014, we opened Brick Street Market to serve our community of Bondurant. We have enjoyed the great support of the community and forged great relationships with our loyal employees and customers. We have built our business on the values of service, integrity, and loyalty; values that we share with Fareway,” said current Brick Street Market and Café Owners Brian and Mary Lohse in a press release. “While it was not an easy decision to make, in deciding to sell the grocery store to Fareway, we know that they will carry on those same values and provide greater opportunities to both our employees and our wonderful community.”

Fareway must still complete its necessary due diligence before the transaction will close.
