John Peter Pizza, retired owner of Washington Vegetable Company, has passed away. Washington Vegetable Company is a wholesale produce company that his father started in 1931.

Mr. Pizza returned from the service in 1945 and went to work at Washington Vegetable Company. He served as President of the San Francisco Produce Association from 1967-1997 and maintained close friendships with many market colleagues until the time of his death.

Mr. Pizza was the beloved husband of Judy Pizza, the loving father of Joan Pizza, Jean Williams and Jack Pizza. Beloved Nonno of Christopher, Genevieve, Katy, Mike & Jayne. The industry veteran was also a lifelong fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants. John's grandchildren were his pride and joy.
