The Prince Edward Island Potato Board welcoming back Heather Moyse, an Olympic Gold Medalist hailing from Prince Edward Island, in her role as Brand Ambassador for Prince Edward Island Potatoes. She represented the board in a successful first year at consumer and trade events across Canada and via social media. Ms. Moyse will be active in promoting PEI Potatoes while competing for spots on both Canada’s women’s Rugby Sevens team as well as Canada’s women’s bobsled team, according to a press release. Prince Edward Island Potatoes serve as primary sponsor for such athletes as Heather Moyse.

Gary Linkletter, Chairman of the Prince Edward Island Potato Board, adds that “we are very pleased to have Heather continue to represent us as part of a winning team. Heather will continue to promote the quality and value of Prince Edward Island Potatoes as well as the nutritional benefits of potatoes as part of a healthy lifestyle and balanced diet.”

Heather says that she is “so pleased to be partnering with PEI Potatoes again, spreading the word about the health benefits of potatoes and about the industry on which I was raised. As I embark on yet another challenge, it is wonderful to have the support of the Growers behind me, and I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish as a team.”

Ms. Moyse and teammate Kaillie Humphries were Gold Medalists at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, the first ever Canadian Olympic gold medal in women’s bobsled. Heather is also a veteran of Canada’s Senior Women’s Rugby Team.
