Sun-Maid Celebrates 100 years
Kingsburg, CA
Sun-Maid is celebrating its 100th Anniversary at the California State Fair beginning July 12-19 in Sacramento. The Cal Expo Center’s Building 3 will be completely filled as Sun-Maid hosts raisin and dried fruit cooking demonstrations and family-friendly activities.
The brand’s Sun-Maid Girl icon, who recently launched her own Facebook page, will pose with visitors for photo opportunities. The fair’s interactive exhibit will describe Sun-Maid’s colorful history, complete with a three-dimensional version of Sun-Maid’s recently released 100th Anniversary eBook, Sun-Maid Raisins & Dried Fruits: Serving American Families & the World Since 1912. The eBook is available for free download at www.sunmaid.com/book. The exhibit “Sun-Maid: Celebrating 100 Years of Fruit & Sunshine” will include two original paintings and a chromo lithograph created by artist Norman Rockwell for Sun-Maid in the 1920’s.
The Sun-Maid Grower’s Store will be transported to Building 3 where Sun-Maid products and merchandise will be available, along with freshly baked raisin oatmeal cookies. Sun-Maid President Barry Kriebel states, “Through Sun-Maid’s 100-year history, the company has participated in a number of key fairs and expositions, including San Francisco’s Panama Pacific International Exposition nearly 100 years ago in 1915.”
