US Foods Introduces New Value Added Fresh Produce Offerings
While many people right now are concerning themselves with getting through the freezing winter, US Foods is looking ahead with its spring line of new products.
In its 8th issue of its publication The Scoop, the company introduced more than 30 new products all with the theme of celebrating dining outdoors after the winter weather breaks, according to a press release. Here is just a taste of the new product offerings:
Shredded Kale Salads: Kale is definitely trending right now, with menu penetration increasing 300% in the last 4 years. Noted for its popularity and health benefits, this kale salad looks great.
Napa Cabbage Blend: Square-cut (1"x1"), this cabbage offers great plate coverage, holds dressing well and prevents rapid wilting. All shredded carrots and red cabbage are included in separate bags for additional crunch and color in salads or coleslaw.
100% Indian River Red Grapefruit Juice: Made from hand-picked red grapefruits, the juice is all natural with no added water, concentrates or preservatives. The juice is pasteurized using a gentle process to maintain fresh taste, aroma and nutrients.
Meyer Lemonade: Meyer lemons are a cross between traditional lemons and mandarin oranges. They offer a unique taste and more naturally sweet, less acidic lemonade. For the strawberry version, pureed strawberries are added to the mix. Lemonades are pasteurized using a gentle process."This winter has been brutal throughout most of the country, but it can’t last forever and this new product line celebrates the impending arrival of spring and will inspire chefs to add new, fresh dishes to their menus and announce the patio is finally open," said Pietro Satriano, Chief Merchandising Officer for US Foods.
