Steve Fox, Former Pro*Act President, Passes Away



Steve Fox, the former President of Pro*Act, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the age of 67.

Steve Fox, Pro*Act President from 1995-1998Remembered and respected for his knowledge, professionalism, and compassion, Steve worked across a broad range of companies and associations in the produce industry.

For nearly twenty years, Steve was instrumental in procuring produce for restaurants including Sizzler and In-and-Out Burger. He was appointed President of Pro*Act from 1995-1998, and also served on the boards of the United Fresh Produce Association and the Produce Marketing Association.

He most recently served as the Business Development Director for the Equitable Food Initiative, starting in March 2013.

Steve began his career as an Anthropology Professor, teaching in various college settings for 12 years. He earned his BA in Anthropology from UC Santa Barbara and an MA from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Steve is survived by his wife, Harriet Fox of Wenatchee, WA, and their five children.  

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Steve’s name to the Equitable Food Initiative.
