New Metro Plus Thibeault Opens in Prévost

PRÉVOST, QUÉBEC, CANADA - Canadian retailer Metro is looking to expand its operations in Québec, and sources say it’s going to be a fresh-forward wonderland. Metro Plus Thibeault will be opening its doors on 2989 Boulevard Curé-Labelle, in Prévost, Canada, and will be the central element of a new commercial complex developed by the Thibeault family.

“For the past 40 years, the Thibeault family has made it a point to contribute to the economic vitality of the communities it serves while providing the best service possible,” said Frédéric and Martin Thibeault, Co-Owners, in a joint statement released by the company. “The new store will deliver the same freshness, product diversity, and high-quality services that the Metro Plus Thibeault stores have built their reputation on for decades.”

This 31,425-square-foot grocery store is the Thibeault family’s fifth store in the Laurentian region. The Metro Plus was designed to provide customers an enhanced and enjoyable shopping experience.

According to the release, freshness is one of Metro’s top priorities. The new store integrates this concept throughout its produce department, which features local and seasonal products, fresh-cut fruit, flavored water, and a “veggie zone" with a selection of alternative products. In addition, over a hundred ready-to-eat meals prepared by in-store chefs using fresh products will be available every day in the “Fresh to Go” aisle.

To satisfy all tastes and to better meet the needs of families on the lookout for the latest food trends, the Metro Plus Thibeault in Prévost offers a wider variety of local, international, gluten-free, and organic products, many of which are found in the Organic & Well-being Market and its special boutique section. With convenience in mind, Metro has also incorporated six self-service checkouts and four charging stations for electric and hybrid vehicles.

The new store will generate 100 jobs in the industry. With Metro’s attention to local and seasonal products, the Prévost community and surrounding area will see advantages as well with the store opening.

As our neighbor to the north witnesses a fresh-forward focus in its retail landscape, one can only anticipate the same here in the States.
