4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Mexico



MEXICO - A magnitude 4.0 earthquake was reported earlier this morning, occurring 49 miles below its epicenter in Mapastepec, Chiapas, Mexico.

As Mexico’s earthquake agency, SSN, continues to monitor the situation, magnitude and other quake parameters may still change in the next few hours due to updates in seismic activity. VolcanoDiscovery, which first reported the quake, cross-referenced the magnitude with another agency which confimed it was a 4.0.
