Bay Growers Renewed Focus and Enhanced Program
Despite setbacks caused by extensive frost damage in early spring last year, Canadian apple growers Bay Growers is turning a new leaf by installing extensive upgrades to the facility over the coming winter months. With ideal growing conditions this year, Bay Growers’ apple crop is the best they have seen in recent memory, with apples of great size, color, taste, and consistent premium quality.
New nitrogen generation equipment was added to the storage facility, along with the latest in vision and sorting technology in the packing facility, all to improve the quality of the fruit for the company’s customers, according to a press release.
Bay Growers’ packaging and logo has also received an updated look that the company believes sends a clear message of who it is and what it’s able to offer. The new website offers extensive information on the company’s history, products, and capabilities, which furthers its marketing efforts to promote the product offering to its customers.
And finally, Steve Bamford was appointed Chairman and President of Bay Growers Inc. in 2012. Steve has acquired multiple orchards of high production Apple Farms in Grey County that are now known as Bamford Family Farms. Overall, Steve has brought a fresh new positive energy to the group to enhance and support the existing ownership team.
Bay Growers offers some of the very best apples available in Canada, including Royal Gala, Ambrosia, Honeycrisp, Macintosh, Red Delicious, Northern Spy, Cortlands, and Empire. The company packs over 3,000 acres of apples for growers all over Ontario as well as Grey County.
